In his newsletter this Sunday, Bloomberg agency journalist Mark Gurman explains that Apple could launch “Apple Glass” in 2027. These smart glasses, developed for years by the Apple brand, could take over froml’Apple Vision Pro.
Gurman explains that he had information about the Vision Project Group, the section of Apple which takes care of the development of these devices. If many rumors have already suggested that connected glasses will one day arrive in Cupertino, they also specify that this should be after “a long development work”.
In other words, you shouldn't expect to have Apple Glass under your Christmas tree, neither this year nor next year. Glasses are not the only product under development at Apple Park. The circular enclosure holds other secrets, and Apple teams are working on other products, likeAirPods with cameras.
“Children” of the Apple Car?
Concretely, these cameras would be used to analyze the user's environment to offer them a better experience. In his report, Mark Gurman explains that Apple is using a lot of the advances made by the Apple Car team to design these new projects.
If the idea of producing an autonomous car has been abandoned by Apple, the Cupertino company continues to take advantage of its knowledge in this area to import it into other products. Object detection and advanced, intelligent environmental analysis were among the capabilities ofl’Apple Car.
Still a lot of patience
As we said earlier in this article, although these projects are all very exciting, they are not close to seeing the light of day. Apple is taking its time to develop them, but we will still have to wait several years before benefitingof the first Apple Glassor slip smart AirPods into your ears.
