Clément, one of our loyal readers was kind enough to
write andsend us a test of the Griffin Survivor case for
iPhone 5.
Real armor for the iPhone, this case remains no less
functional.
This is what we invite you to discover in this complete test and in
pictures. Here is Clément's opinion:
Packaging
We start with a cardboard box which I find rather resistant (Already!)
We can read on the left side “Ready for anything” and
legend symbols (resistant to shocks and falls, vibrations, wind
and rain, and finally sand and dust) support this famous
“anything”, it is also indicated “DESIGNED TO MEET US MILITARY
STANDARDS” so everything is there to tell us one thing “your
iPhone in this case is invincible »
Unpacking and installation:
In the box, you will find: a belt clip, a plastic shell
very rigid plastic, a thick, soft and soft rubber cover
as well as screen protection.
The iPhone is rather hard to put in place in this case and moreover the
positioning lets out a few unwanted “clicks” but
finally, no worries, after three 'round trips' of the iPhone, I don't see
no scratches left on the sides of the iDevice. Once inside, the iPhone
doesn't move at all.The rubber cover surrounds the shell in
plastic, the two are really made to go together, nothing
moves, everything is adjusted, it's perfect!
The screen protector is attached to the case in
plasticseen above. The rubber cover lets through
small jaws (lugs) to hold everything together. (These lugs are not
disturbing if you decide not to add this additional protection) Note
although the rigid film covers the entire screen and even the camera, a
Synthetic grille covers the speaker.
A belt clip is also provided allowing you to hold the iPhone in place.
Portrait mode for watching videos. It is very easy to put it in
place as well as remove it.
The camera is very well protected, a piece of rubber directly
taken on the rigid shell obstructs it and pivots on an axis so that it does not
does not disturb you and you do not need to hold it while you are filming or
take videos. Practical !
The volume buttons are accessible and protected in the same way
manner.
Jack socket and Lightning connectors are also protected. Great, very
well finished, perfect nickel…
Even a “right angle” jack like 'Monster Headset' works.
(but will get in the way when you place the iPhone flat on the opposite side of the screen). On the side of
Lightning connector, no problem, everything is fine, it fits perfectly.
You can hear well in your ear and you can be heard very well on the other end of the phone.
thread ! The case even offers speaker sound amplification thanks to
the substantial thickness thereof. Screen protection does not change anything
the response of the touch screen under your fingers.
This little description ends here.
To conclude, I will say thatthe grip is a little big, but
more reassuringwith gloves. The set is perfect for winter and
the skiing coming. If the iPhone falls in the snow, it should come out
unharmed.
