The Apple firm has had a busy schedule for several months. In September it launched its latest range of iPhone 15, but also that of its Apple Watches. Then, less than two months after that, it was the turn of MacBook Pros equipped with the new Apple Silicon M3 chip to appear on the market.
These numerous launches have taken up space in the firm's media space and have overshadowed Apple's biggest challenge in recent years, which is the Vision Pro. Unless there is an unexpected surprise, there should no longer be a launch large enough to overshadow Apple's mixed reality headset.
Therefore, it would not be surprising in the coming months to see Cupertino put us more and more in suspense, until the fateful moment of the release. Waiting for,9to5Macwas able to retrieve two videos from the latest beta of VisionOS, the headset's operating system.
A gesture reminiscent of the Apple Watch
In the first video, which lasts 35 seconds, Apple explains how to navigate the VisionOS interface using sight and touch. To select an element for example, just stare at it, then click on itby carrying outpress with two fingers, A littlelike the gesture “Double tap » de l’Apple Watch. Eventually, we would use our fingers like we would on our smartphone or computer. Those who thought they could click by blinking will be disappointed.
In the second part of the video, the Cupertino-based firm explains how to configure a “Persona 3D". It is a process ofscan of our own personwhich aims toreproduce a copy of ourselves as a 3D avatar. This is in order to make video calls without needing to show our face equipped with the mixed reality headset.
Based on previous testing, these avatars lack realism, but they will likely be improved by release, which is scheduled for early next year.
