While the rumors
of Apple's automotive initiatives weremany for months, no official confirmation
was not expected. But 2 weeks ago, Apple got
an official permit, the rumor became reality: a system of
autonomous driving (at least) is in development in the firm's premises at
the apple. At the same time, a documentdescribing
the testing process was spotted.
Today, a new element in the Apple Car file, Apple has started
his tests! The car covered with sensors left the premises and was
photographed.
It was Bloomberg once again who was able to recover
the photos published here:
The car, a Lexus RX450, is equipped with "Lidar" (Light detection and
ranging) for laser remote sensing, at least 2 radars and a series of
cameras. It seems that these devices are standard and not particularly
created by Apple, which would therefore focus more on the software part.
At the same time, Apple has
sent a letter to the legislatorto request changes in terms of
incident reports. These are public, but of course the preference of
Tim Cook's firm would like them to remain confidential.
Apple is authorized to test 3 autonomous vehicles this month in California.
So we haven't yet arrived at a real Apple Car,that of the project
"Titan" initial, which has been the victim of management problems in recent
month.
To be continued!
