Apple TV+: 8 must-see films on the platform

Launched in 2019, Apple TV+ was quickly singled out for its lack of content. The apple brand was able to keep its back and little by little built up a stock of production which is today quite suitable.

If we often talk about series, we should not forget that the streaming service also offers very high quality films. Based on the Rotten Tomatoes site and our own viewings, we have therefore put together this list of 8 feature films to watch urgently.

Wolfwalkers

Inthis animated film, we are immersed in an Ireland full of superstitions. Robyn, aged only 11, arrives there accompanied by her father. Their objective is apparently very simple: to hunt the last pack of wolves in the country. The young girl then meets Mebh who transforms into a she-wolf at night. Robyn's life will never be the same again.

Fancy Dance

Inthis nuggetwhich stars the excellent Lily Gladstone, we are dealing with a drama. According to the synopsis proposed by Apple:“Since the disappearance of his sister, Jax has been caring for his niece Roki on the Seneca-Cayuga reservation in Oklahoma. She devotes all her free time to searching for her missing sister, while helping Roki prepare for an upcoming powwow (a celebration that allows Indigenous people to bring their cultural heritage to life and get together Editor's note). »

What follows is a long-term investigation that reveals the complexities and contradictions of indigenous women.

CODA

The Aries Familyfirst hit the screen in France before being entitled to an American remake calledCODA. The latter was rightly awarded the Oscar for best film and best adapted screenplay in 2022.

As a reminder, this gem allows us to follow the story of Ruby (Emilia Jones), the only hearing child born to deaf parents. A sometimes funny and often touching feature film that should not be missed under any circumstances.

Killers of the Flower Moon

This is Martin Scorsese's latest film. For the occasion, the legendary filmmaker relied on the no less legendary duo made up of Leonardo DiCaprio and Rober de Niro. Here is the synopsis ofthis creationcritically acclaimed:

Killers of the Flower Moon is an epic crime saga of true love and unspeakable betrayal. Tetris

If it has been a little less talked about, this film is no less worth the detour. In 1988, Henk Rogers, an American video game developer, discoveredTetris. The feature film thus recounts his journey in the USSR, and his alliance with Alexey Pajitnov, the creator of the game to deploy this title on a global scale.

Moreover, according to communist law, it was strictly forbidden to export this game, and that is therefore the whole point of this thriller which takes us into the middle of the Cold War. We'll let you discover the rest.

The Banker

This production stars prestigious actors including Samuel L. Jackson and Nicholas Hoult. It isfrom a true storybased on the lives of two African-American entrepreneurs who, in 1960s Los Angeles, did everything they could to get their businesses off the ground while resisting the racist attacks they suffered.

Greyhound

Inthis feature filmwhich stars Tom Hanks, we follow the United States' entry into World War II. The US Navy embarks on the risky crossing of the North Atlantic without benefiting from sufficient air support. Suffice to say that these first days are not a long, quiet river! We let you enjoy this great show on Apple TV+.

Palmer

Justin Timberlake hits the screen in this little gem. We follow the story of Eddie Palmer, a former great American football prospect who, after a stint in prison, returns to his hometown. Resumption of a normal life is clearly not easy given his tormented past. When this feature film was released, the streaming service experienceda sharp increase in its audience.
