iOS
9.3 has been available for download since yesterday. He brings his good share of
novelties,
some more notable than others. This is the case of night mode, a new
functionality which aimsto improve our health, or all
at least, to limit the negative effects of the iOS device screen
on our sleep.
Thanks to a game of filtering and colored lighting differently depending on the time
of the day (blue tendency in the morning, orange in the evening), night mode,
long recommended by sleep specialists, allows the iPhone or
the iPad ofbetter support our days and nights. Let's see his
operation and the different settings incorporated by Apple on
concerning :
For what
Blue light emitted by devices like tablets and
smartphones is
exciting, that is to say that shepromotes the state of alertness in
the human being, since it corresponds to the full light of the sun of
daytime. On the other hand, orange light, corresponding to sunset,
promotes falling asleep.
The night mode of the iOS device would therefore limitthe emanation of
blue light in the evening, in any case before bedtime, giving a
orange trend on the screen. Thus, reading on iPhone or iPad with screen to
orange trend would beless harmful to the sleep that follows
and the day/night rhythm of the human body for the days to come.
This mode already existed in certain applications, such asf.lux on Mac, or the appGoogle
Play Livreson iOS and Android. Note that
our survey is still ongoingon the question of reading on
iPhone and iPad in the evening before bed.
Manage this mode in iOS
Thanks toiOS 9.3, It is
now also officially available on iPhone and iPad. To manage
the parameters, you must go to"Settings > Brightness and
display > Night Shift".
The option "Program" should be deactivated if you do not want to benefit from
mode or if we want to be able toactivate it by hand.
In this second case,to turn on the mode manually, il
You must either activate the option "Activate by hand until tomorrow" In
this settings page, or, in the control center, click on
the icon representing a moon in a sun.
It is in this manual mode that thecolor heat bar is
usable. You will have to return to this bar to increase or decrease
the warmth of the colors emitted by the device's screen.
If the option "Program" is activated, the iPhone managesAll
alonethe change in heat of colors emitted by the screen of
progressive manner. You can indicate personalized times by clicking
on "Start/End". Either the mode follows the sunset and sunrise of
the region in which the user is located, or the use chooses
"Custom programming" to indicate the desired times.
To be able to choose automatic programming "From going to bed to getting up
of the sun", it is necessary that in the device settings, it is activated
the “Automatic time zone” option. To do this, go toSettings
> Privacy. On this page, you must activate the “Service of
location", then go to the bottom to "System services". Here, you must
check if the “Automatic time zone” option is enabled.
Even when in programmed mode, it is still possibleexceed

on the iPhone, with on the left, the screen with night mode deactivated, then, for the 3

Recent machines only
Unfortunately, this mode only works on machines with a
64-bit processor,so exit 32-bit chip devices.
Here is the list of compatible devices:
- iPhone 5s, SE, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus
- iPad Air 1 and 2, mini 2, 3 and 4, iPad Pro (12.9 and 9.7 inches)
- iPod Touch 6G
iPhone 4s, 5, 5C, iPad mini 1 and iPad 2, 3 and 4 cannot therefore
take advantage of this night mode. Despite everything, there are alternatives, of course, less
effective, but which can help in certain situations, such as
applications that sometimes happenon the App Store (but who don't stay there
long), ortips of
settings to be made in the device’s “Settings” app.
For those for whom it works, are you satisfied with this mode?
night ? Do you plan to use it as much as possible?
