Finally… PS4 and XBox One controllers supported on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV with iOS 13!

Among the many announcements yesterday, summarized here, there are several which concernedtvOS and Apple TV. The new features concerning tvOS are alsoto be found there. What was notable in this regard was the raising of the veil on theXBox and PlayStation controller compatibility with Apple TV. This point is indeed very important for the Apple TV, which some time ago wanted to be very focused on gaming, but without the expected success. This also paves the way for iOS 13, for mobile gaming finally released with these console controllers soon to be compatible:

With the new tvOS, Apple TV supports official Xbox One and PlayStation 4 controllers. This opening providesgreat advantagesfor gaming on Apple TV, but also iPhone and iPad. Because iOS 13 and iPadOS will also benefit from this addition.

On the one hand, players who have an Xbox One or PS4 at home will be able to play on iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, with thesame controller.

On the other hand, there won't be many questions about which MFi controller model to buy in the future. These two controllers from Sony and Microsoft will besure valuesin terms of MFi controllers. Until now, the supply in this area was quite limited and rather changeable. Some models disappeared from sale, in favor of others, not always of high quality.

It's just a shame that Apple didn't do this as soon as the new Apple TV was released, which could havetransform the gaming landscape on tvOS, but also iOS.

But Apple's interest in video games and its new ambitions, particularly withApple Arcade, certainly pushed for the addition of console controller support.

Who among you with a PS4 or XBox One controller would enjoy using it on iPhone, iPad or Apple TV?
