While the Apple
Watch offers a very practical mechanism allowing you to change the bracelet at
both quickly and easily, the offer of Apple and third-party bracelets is more
additionally provided. So much the better, we have choices!
This is how we were able
test and enjoy the Milanese mesh version hereand the
steel mesh from the Jetech brandin past tests.
But for those who already have an Apple Watch andare looking towards the
sports model released in partnership with Nike, Apple does not offer
unfortunately not the bracelet for sale alone. Nature having a horror of
empty, accessory manufacturers offerbracelets that
closer to the Nike+ version.
The question remains: what are they worth? We tried the experiment and
placed order. Here are the photos and our opinion on the order, receipt and
wearing, after several weeks of daily use.
Premier contact
We rarely mention the command in our tests, but this time it is
important to talk about it. Indeed, it is important to know that if the acquisition of a
bracelet at this very reasonable price may be an impulse purchase,
this will be affected by the delivery time... It is indeed necessary to take into account
several weeks from Asia, this is announced when ordering, but in
In our case, the package was also stuck for a while in Europe.
Bad point: it took 5 weeks to get it... Good point, the
seller was responsive following contact and explained to us that it was necessary to be
patient, he was right, the bracelet finally arrived!
The bracelet chosen here is a gray model with the “holes” in
white, it arrives in a small box, without embellishment but good
presented.
Small disappointment at reception, the choice of color was made to be
discreet, the promise is kept and it corresponds to the photos, butthat's it
is ultimately too discreet. We therefore recommend for those who
let's try, to gotowards slightly brighter colors.
The different colors offered: those of the Apple Watch Nike +:
gray and yellow, gray and white, black and yellow or even black and gray
But also colors that move away from it: black and green, dark blue
and white, red and black, purple and green, light and dark blue as well as pink and
azure blue.
But the bracelet holds a little surprise... Indeed, the part
interior of the holes (white) is made in amaterials
phosphorescente! In other words, once exposed to the
light, the bracelet glows in the dark.
This is surprising because it is not indicated in the description. So we can
see an advantage since it can be seen in the dark, we can do sports
outside and be seen... Yes but it remains discreet because only at the level of
contour of the holes on the one hand and on the other hand, the luminous appearance does not last
very long once in the dark. But funny nonetheless (not available
on all colors probably, the interior must be white
crème)
The bracelet is available for each color, and there are many of them, in
two models, one for the 38mm watch, one for the large model, but
be careful, there is only one size. This can be problematic, I don't have one
big wrist and only 3 holes left. In other words, big
wrist refrain!
The material used is different from that of Apple for the sports bracelet,
it has a more rubbery and less smooth feel. We also note that the whole
is slightly thinner than the traditional sports bracelet. Nothing serious, but
it’s less qualitative.
Wear and sport
Otherwise, installation at the slide level is done without any
problem, the mechanism is apparently similar to what Apple does.
Small concern at the start, a slight play seemed visible to the eye, in
practical, after days of wearing, afterhours of badminton,
walking, cycling, nothing ever changed, so on that, it seems
correct. This is important because it’s not about losing the watch…
Once the bracelet is in place and the case, it is a matter of placing it
arm. No surprise, we find the usual “highlight” of the model
sport which crashes into one of the holes in the bracelet. Here too, this
fits well but remains tight enough not to come out, no problem
lament on the fixation.
Better yet, the large number of perforations (they serve as a pattern and
allow in theory to evacuate perspiration) offers more possibilities in
term of adjustment to the size of the wrist. We will therefore have a good outfit and a
watch that serves just enough for heart rate measurement to be
reliable, thanks to precise contact of the box with the arm.
This was mentioned before, the bracelet is on my arm permanently
for about 3 weeks, it has been used for daily activities but
also of course during sports sessions. Particularly badminton
several hours per week. It never came loose or at the level of
slides or grip.
On the other hand, we are on a sports model and the multiplicity of perforations
suggested increased comfort thanks to improved evacuation of the
body heat and perspiration. In practice, I really don't have
felt a big difference with Apple's classic sports bracelet on this
appearance. We will therefore be satisfied with tightening comfort and the aesthetic aspect
original.
In the end, if we accept the deadline, we have a bracelet that will allow those
who dream of the Nike+ model to find their happiness, especially since the
colors are even more varied than at Apple, at a very reasonable price.
For this price, the quality is good without being exceptional. On the other hand, in
In terms of comfort, this is not comparable with third-party metal models
that we were able to test, in particular with
the Milanese knit model, the best so far!
