Last year with iOS 12, Apple focused on speed and performance, to the detriment of new features. The Apple company continues this momentum with iOS 13, but by adding many more new features.
During theWWDC 2019 keynote, Apple claims to have improved performance to make themore responsive system. Additionally, there are also several new ways to perform different actions, which makesome tasks faster, here's how.
First of all Apple announces aunlocking with Face ID 30% faster, launch apps up to twice as fast, reduce the size of downloadsup to 50%, and those of app updatesup to 60%.
Apple also introduced severalchanges and new gesturesin iOS 13, to allow you to performcertain actions more quickly.
- it is possible tograb the cursor with your fingerand quickly move it to another place in a text or sentence.
- andshare menuwhich appears more quickly and whichsuggests apps and contactswith whom you might want to share content.
- afaster text selection, for example by double typing addresses, phone numbers, emails and more. A double tap selects an entire sentence and a quadruple tap selects a paragraph.
- pinching with three fingers allows you toquick copy/paste
- it is possible toselect multiple emails, files and foldersby tapping with two fingers by dragging the target location.
- quick reorganization of lists, in Notes, swiping right on an item in a list adds indentation and moves completed tasks to the bottom of the list.
- Sign in with Apple: allows you to connect quickly without having to fill out any forms;
- Collections of favorite places: it is possible in Maps to create groups of favorite places and share them.
- QuickPath: Users can enter text one-handed on the iOS keyboard by continuously swiping from one letter to the next;
- Reminders: There is a quick toolbar that allows you to quickly add times, dates, locations and flags, as well as attachments.
- Calendar: A new day view provides a quick overview of the day's events, with the ability to quickly get directions and call a contact.
- Safari: new home page allowing faster access to frequently visited sites. Ability to save a group of tabs to reopen them later.
- Screen time: when a limit is reached, it is possible to quickly add 1 additional minute, for example to disconnect from a game or save work.
Many improvements that will allow you to perform tasks more quickly, as well as smoother use of the interface.
