A new note for
investors has just been published and could be revealed by Apple Insider. She
details information regarding the Touch ID sensor of the next iPhone 8
which should arrive at the end of the year accompanied by the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus. He
Apple could well be having difficulty assembling its iPhone 8
with Touch ID integrated under the screen and invisible. Different solutions
could then be considered to overcome this problem, including a delay of
production causing a delay in availability:
According to recent rumors, the iPhone 8 should arrive equipped with a screen
5.8-inch OLED, with 5.1 inches dedicated to the display, the rest planned
for virtual buttons. This location will also contain a useful area
for the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, which would no longer be visible and would pass
under the screen.
In any case, this is what previous reports and leaks announced
information. But according to the analystTimothy Arcuriof the
CompanyCowen and Company, Apple would not for the moment
capable of assembling large stocks of such a device, in the sense that
integrating a Touch ID under the screen remains a technical challenge with difficulty
surmountable and requires extended manufacturing time.
If no solution can speed up production, Apple could then
consider one of these 3 plans B: either Touch ID would disappear
completely from the iPhone 8, which would then base its unlocking only
on facial recognition, or Touch ID would be installed on the back of
the device, a solution already anticipated by a
recent rumor seen here, or the production would simply be
delayed.
In the latter case, the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus would then be used to make
buffer before the expected release of the iPhone 8. These two models which should
arrive next September would consist of two simple evolutions of
Current iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, without major changes, unlike the iPhone 8
anniversary edition.
Touch ID is obviously not the first element to pose a problem to the
apple firm,
we recently heard aboutof the 3D sensor on the front of the device, which
would also be a source of difficulty in assembling the device.
How about a Touch ID sensor on the back of the phone?
