Apple improves Wi-Fi HotSpot feature and Wi-Fi widget with iOS 13

Theversion 13 d’iOSshould bring its share of new features. We had a glimpse of it during theWWDC conference, summarized here. Among these new features, there are improvements to be expected on the Wi-Fi side on iPhone, but also iPad and iPadOS. Here's what we can expect at this point, based oniOS 13 preview sheet already online at Apple:

Do you support WPA3

This new standard guarantees a more secure Wi-Fi network. Devices running iOS 13 and iPadOS will be compatible with thisWPA3.

Automatic hotspot connection

When an iPhone is in hotspot mode, a nearby iPad can connect to itautomaticallyif he does not otherwise have access to the internet. Under iOS 12, you have to do the connection manipulation on the iPad and choose the iPhone hotspot.

Hotspot connection active, even in standby

Even when the device connected to the hotpost goes to sleep, it maintains its connection and continues to receive messages and notifications from the Internet, as via a traditional Wi-Fi network.

Analysis of surrounding Wi-Fi networks

The iOS device can determine which Wi-Fi networks are in use around it. It even indicates which one is available to ensure the best possible connection.

Widget Wi-Fi plus riche

From the Control Center Wi-Fi Widget, the user canchoose which network you want to connect to. The same goes for Bluetooth with the list of accessories visible in the Bluetooth widget in the control center.

That's it for Wi-Fi improvements in iOS 13 and iPadOS.
