Survey result: a very mixed opinion on iOS 11, well below iOS 10, with 3 main complaints

iOS 11 has since been released
about 1 month. It was quickly installed on many machines
compatible, while at the same time, Apple has continued to work on
correction of the first problems encountered by users, by proposing
various minor updates of iOS 11. In parallel, a first version
scalable, 11.1 is currently in the public beta testing phasewe mentioned it here. Et
like every year, after a few weeks with the new version of the system
mobile from Apple, we wanted to give you the floor and assess the opinion that
is emerging regarding this iOS 11. This was the object ofce
survey.

After more than 2600 votes and 130 comments, now is the time to
take stock of the results, in order to know ifl’iOS version 2017
does better or worse than its predecessorsin terms
of appreciation. This while iOS 10 had set the bar very high and iOS
11 has unleashed the wrath of some both in terms of impact on autonomy
only on the speed of certain machines or on choices discussed
concerning the control center in particular!

iOS 11 struggles to convince

To the question "How do you like iOS 11?", five answers were
proposed: "Very good", "Good", "Bad", "Very bad" or even "Without
opinion". Well out of more than 2600 voters, it is the answer "Good" which wins
the most votes.

Here is the precise distribution of opinions:

So a little more than half of you (around 56%) rate it as “good” or
“very good” the new iOS.

But on the other hand, many are disappointed: almost 40% (39) express a
negative judgment (bad or very bad)!

To compare with previous years, we note thatin 2015,
iOS 9 largely appealed to its users, with 64%of the
surveyed saying they were satisfied with the new features, when in 2016, Apple managed to
please even more, with86% of respondents who rated iOS 10 as good or
very good, andresult

iOS 11 in comparison is far from these satisfaction figures, and
manages to bring together only a small majority of users
satisfied.

The main reasons

Many people took part in the debate via comments,

The first is the fact that for many users who expressed themselves,
l’machine autonomy has notably dropped when moving from iOS 10 or
before iOS 11. This seems to affect older people more strongly.

between an update and a problem of reduced autonomy, given that this
latter can also be linked to various other reasons (aging of
battery, buggy or particularly energy-intensive application, etc.)

Another source of discontent:the impossibility of being able
cut off WiFi and Bluetoothfrom the new control center. Apple
has its reasons for this discussed choice, we have them

"non-cutting" takes on all the more importance when it is associated with the
reduction in autonomy mentioned previouslyand having affected some
users. Indeed,to get through the day, some wish
cut off WiFi and Bluetooth completely!

However, it is always possible to completely deactivate WiFi and
Bluetooth by going to the settings, using Siri or even 3D

Finally, the last criticism leveled against iOS 11, a certain
slowness and latency felt in the system so
general, and more particularly with the keyboard when writing
message in social apps like Messages, WhatsApp and others.

This can be more or less obvious depending on the machines and their power,
therefore the oldest devices such as iPhone 6 for example seem
particularly prone to this type of problem. This problem nevertheless seems
have been improved following the latest corrective updates of iOS 11, then
that we had seenhere one
possible solution to testto try to resolve these slowdowns
keyboard.

On the good points side, even if in the comments, it is mainly the
dissatisfied people who made themselves heard, it seems obvious thatthe new
control center pleases, with its modularity and its new
Access shortcuts, very practical.

Concerning other appreciated characteristics, it also seems clear
that themany new features for multitasking and working on
iPadseduced. But this does not concern the majority of users
of iOS 11, hence this lack of positive points in the comments of the
survey.

Still, Apple is working to improve its OS by offering
regularly new updates, including the latest,11.1 is currently in
beta test phase. This version should arrive with the iPhone
bring some new features, including hundreds of new emoticons,
