The planned changes
for the iPhone 8, as innovative as they are, seem to cause some problems for
Apple. Indeed, a new report issued by the analysis company KGI
Securities and its renowned tech specialist Ming-Chi Kuo supports the thesis
according to which the new flagship iPhone of this year could see its
production delay one to two months. In question, a rhythm of design of
OLED screens not supported enough. This is one more difficulty which would be added to
that already encountered concerning
the integration of a Touch ID sensor under the screen:
According to the source, the iPhone 8 could therefore arrive between October and December
in the hands of the first buyers, while it may be necessary
wait until the beginning of 2018 to collect a copy if you do not
not one of the quickest to order.
In question therefore, a stock of edge-to-edge OLED screens is still insufficient for
be able to respond to all orders on time according to the
forecasts.
Lately, another problem seemed to hit iPhone manufacturing,
either aproduction difficulty
new fingerprint sensors, supposed to pass under the screen.
To limit the damage in terms of delay, Apple could, according to recent
rumors, consider alternative solutions, such as using a Touch
ID on the back of the iPhone, or even the outright removal of Touch ID,
knowing that an iris sensor could take over on the identification side on
the device.
What becomes more certain from week to week, however, is that
the iPhone 8 or Edition should not be on shelves in September. Of the
iPhone 7s and 7s Plus would, however, be launched at that time. To allow
up to Apple to remain present in the meantime and still offer
a bit of novelty at the start of the school year following the September keynote.
And while the iPhone 8 seems to generate significant anticipation according to
analysts, with its innovative features such asnew
A11 chip, this edge-to-edge OLED screen and a 3D front sensorconfirmed
recently by the way, the 7s and 7s Plus models could well be
much less attractive, especially compared to Android smartphones which, in the
top of the range, integrate many features expected on
the iPhone, including edge-to-edge OLED.
This production delay will therefore necessarily have an impact on the success of
the iPhone 8, as anticipated as it is, analysts even predictbetween
20 and 30 million fewer units soldlinked to the delay of
production for the anniversary edition device.
And you ? Will you wait two more months to get your hands on one?
