New features for Podcasts also in iOS 13 on iPhone and iPad

The WWDC 2019 keynote was very rich in announcements, whichwe have summarized in this articlecovering the main new features unveiled by Apple. Due to lack of time, Apple cannot go into detail for each OS, and we generally learn more after the conference.

This is the case of Podcasts which was briefly reviewed during the keynote, but that does not mean that there is nothing new. Apple has just sent an email to podcast creators, to tell them about the differentWhat's new in the Podcasts app in iOS 13.

Apple highlights the following new features for the Podcasts app in iOS 13 on iPhone and iPad. When a user performs a search, it will also search the termsin broadcast transcripts.

Users will also be able to discover shows based on audio transcripts, topics and people. Additionally, the show and episode pages godisplay images of creators and guestsparticipating in podcasts.

These new features will initially be available for popular shows in English. Then this will gradually be rolled out to other shows.

Apple will also add this summernew categories, such as Fiction, History, Crime, as well as adozen new subcategories, for example Fiction > Drama.

Incidentally, Apple will alsorename some categoriesfor greater clarity, anddelete subcategories with very little traffic. A program that is part of a deleted subcategory will then display the higher category, while it is assigned to a new subcategory.
