Dodocool micro USB and Lightning cable test for iPhone, iPad, accessories and smartphones

If like us at the editorial office
your iPhone cables become damaged and start to cut or if you wish
have an extra cable in the office, the offers are numerous and varied.
We derailed youproposed a
selection of 10 varied cables in this article
.

And to recharge USB devices or accessories in addition to the iPhone, there
also has an offer so as not to have to worry about multiple cables. This is the adapter
micro-USB/Lightning. Apple offers its own, it is
sold here
. Amazon
also sells one here
, on l’atested in pictures
ici
. But it was the Dodocool brand that had the good idea to market
a solution integrating the USB cable and the Lightning adapter secured by
a small clip. It meets the MFI label (“Made for iPhone”)
assigned by Apple, guarantee of compatibility over time.

This is therefore the model that we chose, here it is in pictures, with our
impressions and recommendation:

First of all, in terms of price, at around 14 euros, it can be compared

to the bare Apple adapter sold for 19 euros here
or
to the Amazon adapter for 11 euros here
.

The 3 euros extra cost compared to the latter can possibly be
justified by the presence of the micro USB cable but often we already have one
A. In this case it is the size (in terms of section) and compatibility with
a possible hull which will make the difference and above all the presence of the
tab which prevents you from losing the adapter when using the cable with a
micro USB accessory.

As for buying an Apple cable, remember that it costs more and does not allow
not dual compatibility

Ordered on Amazon, it was received in a few days, in packaging in
carton simple et compact.

No surprise, it consists of a standard micro-USB cable, on which
a micro-USB/Lightning adapter is connected with a socket on the other side
Classic male USB.

The cable measures approximately97 cm in length, to be compared to
105 cm of the cable delivered by Apple with its products.

The adapter plugs and unplugs without problem, with specificity
which can prove very practical, as we have said: it is connected to the cable by a
plastic tab. Result, when the cable is used with an accessory
USB, the adapter does not risk getting lost. Thatnevertheless loses
its interest if you wish to use the adapter with USB cables of
different sizes
(of course, we can cut the link, but in this case,
there are rather other solutions than that of dodocool to
preferred).

The cable was completely satisfactory for synchronizing the iPhone
with a computer or to recharge it with a transformer. Likewise, a
Nexus with micro USB port charged without issue, as did the Pulse from
Withings, as well as various accessories.

In terms of size, this is an important point, the adapter if it is
slightly larger than a standard cable remains very compact in terms
of section
.

  • Cable standard Apple : 7mm x 4 mm de section
  • Cable dodocool : 10 mm x 5 mm de section

This point is important and should be monitored before purchase to check
that it is compatible with possible protection. In our case, it passes
for example in the space provided bythe Otterbox case tested
ici
.

On the other hand, it turns out to be much longer in terms of the socket:

Au
final, for a reasonable price, we have a practical multifunction cable in
travel for those who need an official MFI Lighting compatible solution
AND micro USB. The cable displays good quality, seems thick and durable while
being able to be replaced by another USB cable if necessary. To be perfect,
it would have been practical to be able to detach the micro-usb-lightning adapter
in order to use it with a shorter cable for example when the need arises
made to feel.

Anyway: Validated purchase and labelrecommended by
