Test of the SolidSuit case and Rhinoshied adaptable photo lenses for iPhone X (and other models)

We have
already had the opportunity to test different types of protection for iPhone,
waterproof, resistant, but also elegant and other minimalist
transparent, you canfind these articles

hull, but also a real set of accessories that we will discover
together. Suggested by the manufacturerRhinoshield, specialized in
longstanding in the protection of our machines, these areseveral

by the macro!

Let's discover together a shell (and other complementary ones) but also the
optics available in an evolving range which should appeal to the most
keen on image and protection! A longer test than usual because there
has a lot to cover, and loads of photos!

The hull

The hull that we chose to test is the one named
SolidSuit, presentedhere on the Rhinoshield website,
but other models are compatible with the adaptation solution of
lenses, we will see them in photos at the end of the article.

The case here in an iPhone
shock resistant (“level of protection comparable to other phone cases)
market protection while being 20% ​​thinner” according to the manufacturer), it
is made from a single block to put on and weighs 30g.

Several types of rear decorations are available (leather, carbon fiber,
wood) and we note in passing that these models are approved by the FDA (FDA
American Food and Drug Products) as harmless to
man and the environment. They are indicated as not containing
Bisphenol A, S and F.

The interior has a honeycomb appearance which is undoubtedly there to add a
thin layer of air between the machine and the protection.

The rear of the model tested displays a matte appearance which is not that of the
usual smooth plastics. Pleasant to the touch, it turned out quite
effective in preventing fingerprints.

The whole thing is sober, very well finished and rather elegant in a black which
extends the iPhone screen.

The cuts are precise, burr-free and perfectly adjusted whatever
for the speaker, the lighting socket (wide enough to let the
charging cables) or for the vibrator switch. We note that it is even
possible to change the buttons to give a touch of color to the whole
if we wish.

On the back, a significant space is reserved for the photo part, it's there
that will house the mechanism allowing to maintain the
lenses:

The machine is installed in the hull by first sliding it
on one side then forcing it to play on its elasticity. It is
less easy than with a flexible silicone case but it is done well.
The whole is then perfectly homogeneous, nothing moves. Corollary,
removing the shell requires a little elbow grease, it can be done, but not everyone
days! The result:

The test could have stopped there, it would have looked like we had here a
excellent protection, sober, resistant, elegant and perfectly adjusted to
l’iPhone X.

But it can do much more and that's what makes it original and
the practical aspect of this product: the capacity to accommodate lenses
intended to improve photo and video shooting.

Adding photo lenses

Thus, Rhinoshield first markets a very small accessories in
metal and plastic, which is housed in the hole in the hull intended for
the photo lens.

Each iPhone model has its own photo cell size specifications
but also location, it is this adapter which makes it possible to adapt to the
shell to then allow the use of standardized objectives. The interest
economical for the user is major: when you change your iPhone,
just re-equip yourself with justa shell and the adapter
correspondingso you can reuse your favorite lenses. Others

On a daily basis, without a lens, no specific discomfort and an adapter rather

Only one drawback that we note during use: dust tends to
to be deposited and remain on the photo lens of the iPhone, you have to think about
wipe it clean before taking pictures or installing a lens. Let's go

Objectives, implementation and use

The range of lenses is wide, it includes different wide angles and a
fisheye.

Each lens comes with two caps, one for the front, one for
protect the back, as well as a fabric carrying pouch:

The manufacturing quality of the lenses is impressive, we are dealing with
