Aukey

Bluetooth portable speakers to accompany mobiles and tablets. We had
Besidestested the
small 5 W speakerof the brand last spring. Recently, it is a
slightly more high-end version that we were able to test.
With bass announced as sublimated, a clear sound and an autonomous
high, Aukey promises great things, let's see what happens in

Full box
When unpacking, as we are used to with Aukey, everything is clean and well
tidy, without excess on the packaging.
We discover the speaker packaged in a flexible plastic protection, a
user manual with warranty card, as well as a USB cable for
charging and a Jack cable for the auxiliary connection.
The speaker itself has dimensions of 200 × 60 × 65mm for 675
g. Rather imposing, it is however quite light. Its finish is
excellent, with a sort of metallized grid which makes the
perimeter.
On top, a dark gray rigid plastic adds a rather
pleasant and classy overall. Finally, on the bottom, 4 feet allow
hold the case stably.
At the back, we note the presence of a power button, a socket
micro-USB for charging and a 3.5 mm jack. On top,
different controls allow you to manage volume, playback and recording
call button for the hands-free function. For this purpose, the speaker has a
built-in microphone.
For this there is a button allowing you to pick up during a call, a
button to increase or decrease the volume, a button to move forward or backward
in the play playlist and a play button.
Finally, an LED indicates the status during use: on
in blue, searching for a Bluetooth connection in flashing blue, or in green
to signify an auxiliary connection.
Ears bigger than belly
The speaker has two speakers of 8 W each. Frequency range
announced coverage is 160 Hz to 20 kHz. So yes, the speaker can
send sound through these two speakers. The sound level can be
high and easily sound a room of 20 m square. However, it is not necessary
push it higher, otherwise distortion will be heard. This Aukey
certainly has the chest, but cannot work miracles.
The sound quality is quite satisfactory. The bass is there, there, the
mids too, but it lacks precision in the treble. And the format does not
does not allow you to go too low either, as the manufacturer notes
moreover (160 Hz theoretical limit). No point in hoping to hear
subbasses là-dessus.
All this means that the speaker perhaps lacks a certain balance, with
a sound that seems muffled, driven by this low midrange which takes over the
stay. Software equalization on the iPhone allows you to correct the
rendered.
As for the controls, they respond perfectly well, the
Bluetooth connection is done quickly and easily, while taking
control on the speaker for a hands-free kit call is very
practical, especially since the integrated microphone does the job very well.
In terms of autonomy, it is announced at 8 hours. In practice, it seems
during our tests that we are a little below this indication
constructor. We are continuing the tests on this point.
Conclusion
In the end if we put the sound, neither perfect nor bad, in perspective of the price,
the finish, and the possibilities offered, this speaker remains a very
good deal. Priced at less than fifty euros (and much less with
promo code below), we have someplenty for its price.
The speaker will do its job in many situations, outdoors or
in the car for example, and for the format and shape, the sound level
product is largely satisfactory. An elegant auxiliary solution for those who
does not want to go too high up the range and therefore in price:
