The name Unbreakcable should not be unfamiliar to our loyal readers. Indeed, it is a brand recently created by an Asian accessories manufacturer who has been offering lightning cables for iPhone and iPad for a very long time (and someother accessories). These cables areMFi certified by Apple, a guarantee of longevity in terms of connectivity.
We have had the opportunity to discover them in recent years through tests. More recently, aclassic version of Unbreakcable cables was tested here.
Today, it's a slightly different and even less expensive model (and we have an additional promo code) that we're going to discover. It has the particularity of having awoven covering. It is offered intwo lengthsand in two colors:black or silver.
- Unbreacable cables are availablehere in black versionethere silver version. Take advantage of discounts:on the 1m which goes to 6.8 eurosinstead of 8 euros, andon the 2m at €8.5 instead of €10thanks to the promo code UNBREAKCABLE
But also :3 tempered glass protectors for iPhone X at -25%, UNBREAKcable brand at €6.74instead of €8.99 with the code PROTECTION2, also availablehere in iPhone 8, 7, 6s or 6 versionat the same price/reduction
Let's see together what this new version of a sure value of power and sync cables for iPhone and iPad looks like.
The cables are delivered in very minimalist packaging in terms of size, with the new UNBREAKcable brand clearly highlighted in gold letters on a black background. This is a play on words between “cable” and “unbreak” to give the English equivalent of “unbreakable”.
The outer part of the cable is made of woven material.
Those who have already had this type of cable in their hands know the advantages: a pleasant touch and via the rigidity, aless tendency to tie knotscompared to conventional plastic cables. This is also the case for these models.
We note a very slightly larger section for the 2m model (at the top in the photo below) compared to the 1m version, this ensures the conductivity adapted to the length and also helps to avoid knots.
A Velcro strip is delivered with each cable, it is used to store it neatly rolled up, but I must admit that I probably haven't figured out how to use it best. A regret, thesmall plastic storage accessory for the plastic cable version is not provided here.
The lightning and USB sockets have a plastic case, protected by a self-adhesive film which is easily removed.
Regarding the lightning jack that plugs into the iPhone or iPad, the section is very close in size to that of the cable delivered or sold by Apple but slightly larger. This remains in thelower limit of socket sizesthat we were able to come across during our various tests.
This aspect is important for those who use cases with a small cutout around the socket (we tested with a Lifeproof iPhone 6 case and it didn't work, by a hair).
Section comparison with the iPhone cable supplied with the iPhone (white):
The USB-A side is similar:
Charging and syncing worked smoothly in our tests, with no compatibility alerts or anything else. Logical and expected regarding certified productsMade For iPhone par Apple(MFi).
The intensities measured during recharging are consistent with what can be measured with a standard cable, whether for 1m or 2m, with intensities exceeding 1 A when using a powerful charger (for example that of the iPad) with a machine capable of absorbing this intensity (recent iPhone or iPad).
In the end, we find here thequality and finishalready appreciated with this manufacturer, whether Syncwire or UNBREAKcable. We appreciate thecomfort of use of a woven cable, more pleasant to the touch and less prone to knots at a very attractive price. Finally, these cables are longer than those of Apple (1m versus 0.9m) and above allmuch cheaper while being MFi certified. Recommended!
