Test of the Aukey USB-C PD charger + 2 USB-A sockets: power for Mac, iPhone and iPad (with promo code)!

We have already had the opportunity to test two USB-C chargers equipped with the Power Delivery power adaptation function, from the Aukey brand. The first, particularly compact, hasseen in detail here, while aanother model, also wall-mounted, also offered an additional USB socket. We tested it there.

Today we are going to look at a charger from the same range, even more powerful and well equipped for all charging needs, MacBook, at the office or even when traveling.

This Aukey charger actually offers 3 sockets: oneUSB-C 60W, accompanied by2 prises USB-A.

After several weeks of use, here it is in photos, in detail, accompanied by our opinion:

The transformer is delivered in a tight-fitting, but protective, cardboard package. It is accompanied by the warranty card, instructions in French and a connection cable.

This is the first difference with the two other models previously tested. It does not plug directly into a wall socket, but using a 1.2 m long cable. This one, similar to the old radio cables, is easily plugged and unplugged. A Velcro allows it to be kept rolled up, making it easy to store in a bag for example.

The charger has a rather austere design, displaying a homogeneous plastic block, more imposing than the MacBook charger delivered by Apple.

On the front, we find the USB-C socket and two USB-A fast sockets.

The USB-C socket can be used to connect a MacBook, or an iPhone with a USB-C/Lightning cable: the best current way to benefit from fast charging (50% iPhone X charge in 30 minutes)

The charger can, to recharge a MacBook Pro, deliver up to 60 W of power. The USB-C PD socket offers the following charging voltage/current couples: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/2.3 A.

The two standard USB-A ports provide typical 5V power and up to 2.4A on both ports (sufficient for iPhone, iPad).

During our tests, even with a Mac plugged in, which charges at its classic speed, an iPhone benefited from powerful (and therefore fast) charging on one of the USB-A sockets. And there is even another one left for a third product: smartphone or accessory!

No problems with unwanted heating were encountered during use.

We appreciate this charger, both for its great power to cover the needs of a computer enthusiast, with the Mac of course, but also for recharging iPhone and iPad, all in fast mode! The external cable to plug in, a good length, allows you to be comfortable both in the office and on the move, more than with a wall-mounted model. The only drawback is a larger size than the compact chargers tested so far.

The choice is therefore vast and will therefore depend on needs:a single USB-C socket with this ultra compact model (test), a charger with aUSB-C socket plus a USB-A (test)or like here with three takes!
