Practical iOS 7: Use the French dictionary and more on iPhone and iPad

You may not know it but,
SinceiOS 6, Apple now offers an integrated dictionary in
French.

Whether on iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, getting it started is
really very simple and this is what we will see in the rest of the post.
However, if you wish to be able to consult the dictionary of several
languages on the same device, you should also find what you are looking for in

Once installed, you will be able to use the dictionary wherever there is
text. Mail, iBook or even Safari, a simple click on the screen and you
will have access to the definition of the desired word.

The first time, you will have to download the dictionary.
Take the example of Safari, do a long press on the word you
would like to have the definition and you will see a small menu appear in
which is 'Definition'. By pressing it, a new window will
open with the words 'No Definition Found'. You must then press
on 'Manage', located at the bottom left, to access the list of dictionaries
available.

The one in which the iPhone is configured appears in the first line. He
just click on the cloud to collect it until a cross
indicates that it is installed correctly. Obviously, this is the one and only time
where you will have to do it.

Once the dictionary has been downloaded you will be able to access the definition of
any crossword here or there. Besides, if you ask again now
a definition, a result is proposed to you.

TRICK :If, for one reason or another, you
want to be able to access multiple dictionaries on a single device, it
you just need to install the dictionary of the desired language from the list
proposed. You will then have access to an English dictionary (with definition in
English) for example.
